LCA Tejas Mk1A to receive two European missiles Meteor BVRAAM and ASRAAM missile to boost its firepower
Light Combat Aircraft Tejas is all set to receive two European advanced missiles, the Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) and the Meteor long-range BVR missile, the integration of ASRAAM is in the final stages and will start captive trials next month followed by firing trials in the later half of 2023.
The Tejas Mark 1A aircraft will be integrated with the highly capable upgraded Uttam AESA radar from the 21st unit onwards featuring 912 Transmit Receiver Modules (TRM) that can support the Meteor long-range missile and other indigenous advanced missiles like the Astra Mark 2 and Astra Mark 3 missiles.
Tejas Mk1A with Astra Mk1 BVRAAM, Meteor BVRAAM, Astra Mk2 BVRAAM and Astra Mk3 BVRAAMs along with ASRAAM missile will be a potent and threatening platform for India’s enemies.
