TATA-Airbus set to bag order for 15 more C-295 aircraft for Indian Navy & Coast Guard

The Ministry of Defence is all set to grant Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the acquisition of 9 Airbus C-295 Maritime aircraft for Navy and 6 C-295 aircraft for the Indian Coast Guard.

Airbus Defense will modify the initial batch of aircraft for maritime requirements and the rest will be manufactured at the TATA-Airbus facility in Gujarat while the DRDO will execute the overall project to equip them with Multi-Mode Radars, Electro Optical Cameras and sonobuoys.
