US prepares B1B Lancer bomber to carry 50% more payload and adds Hypersonic Missile launching capability eyeing India

Amid the reports that both US and Russia are bridging their B-1B lancer on Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack long range strategic bombers to India, a senior US official has said that the B1B will hit the test tracks this summer as they are currently being integrated with new pylons developed by Boeing that will increase the payload capacity by more than 50% and will give it the capability to launch Hypersonic weapons.

Experts have said that India procuring at least 6 B1B bombers cannot be ruled out completely and this higher payload capability and Hypersonic missile launch ability will give greater security to India’s defense amid China’s recent deployment of H6K tactical bomber fleet near Indian border.
