ADA gears up for AMCA prototype stage as CCS approval coming at any moment ; 5 prototypes to be built for testing and final configuration
The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) has said that once the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) grants clearance to the AMCA 5th generation stealth fighter program, the immediate step will be to start metal cutting of the first prototype which will be rolled out in 4 years and it will be followed by 4 more prototypes that will join the flight developmental program one year apart from the first flight of the first prototype.
The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) intends to develop a ground test specimen that will be used to carry out a slew of tests that aircraft must go through before their first flight the first two prototypes will be used to carry out checks on the Digital Flight Control computers, avionics, and flight parameters at different altitudes and other testing parameters of the internal weapons and serpentine air intake.
The 3rd and 4th prototypes will be used for testing out the weapons capabilities of the aircraft along with certifying them for initial operational clearance in air-to-air mode and air-to-surface mode over the next few years the 5th prototype will be the first pre-production aircraft that will have nearly production-ready capabilities that will be tested by the Indian Air Force before it is cleared for production in 2032.
