The Aeronautical Development Agency has initiated the process to build a new Ironbird facility for futuristic manned fighters like 5th gen stealth fighter AMCA and 4.5th gen Tejas Mk2 Medium Weight Fighter.

An Ironbird test facility is a ground based test device that is used for prototyping and integrating various systems like Aircraft line replaceable units, Hydraulic Actuators, Cockpits and Avionics. During the development of aircraft, aircraft systems are installed into the Ironbird so that those systems and their functions are tested individually and in co-relation with other sub-systems.
