Attention Indian Air Force: French Dassault Rafale F4.2 and F5 versions to focus on SEAD capabilities
At a time when the French Dassault Rafale F4 standard fighter jet is being regarded as the top contender in the 114 Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) program of the Indian Air Force, French Defence Ministry Officials have said that the French Air Force had no need for a dedicated version of the Rafale for Electronic Warfare (EW) and Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD).
As per French Defence Ministry Officials, the forthcoming F 4.2 and F5 variants of the Rafale aircraft are set to prioritize SEAD capabilities that will enhance the ability to neutralize enemy air defense systems effectively and create favorable conditions for strike missions against heavily defended targets.
This means that Rafale F4 and F5 versions in future will be a dedicated EW fighter itself without having a dedicated version for so, this is a big capability jump and the Indian Air Force must have been watching this development very carefully.
