Satellite images of Indian BMD Long Range Radar site revealed, work nearing completion

According to media reports, two dome-like structures have come up in an area located 30 kilometers from Udaipur city which could be the first site of the radars which are part of the Indian Ballistic Missile Defense Shield (BMDS) grid.

The dome has an Israeli Elta ELM-2090 strategic early warning dual-band radar system and the work on the first radar site will be completed by mid-2023 and three more sites in two different states will be equipped with the same radar and will become operational by 2024 that will provide crucial data for India’s Phase-1 of the Ballistic Missile Defense network that can intercept missiles upto 2,500-3,000km ranges.
