Argentina was supposed to announce the winner of its fighter jet tender in December 2022 but as per latest reports, Argentina has postponed the announcement to 2023, mainly due to the delayed visits by Argentine Air Force officials to evaluate the second hand American F-16 offer by Denmark at $15 million per aircraft and India’s Tejas Light Combat Aircraft last month.

India has offered a modified variant of the Tejas Mk 1A and Hindustan Aeronautics continues to remain in contention for Argentina‘s order of 12 fighter jets.

Here it is worthy to note that Danish F-16s are found to be equipped with British origin aircraft components which may invite British sanction against the sell of those fighters to Argentina, for that reason, Argentinais mainly evaluating Indian Tejas Mk1A and China-Pak’s JF-17 Block-III offers as the two main contenders.
